Uzbekistan advocated for the unity of the “Turkic world”
The Republic is promoting projects to transform the Organization of Turkic States.

Uzbekistan advocated for the transformation of the Organization of Turkic States into a practical platform for cooperation based on real projects — economic, transport, humanitarian, and technological.
The Head of State believes that the future of the Turkic world lies in integration. The Samarkand Declaration, Strategy 2022-2026, and the “Turkic Vision — 2040” established a new format — from symbolic unity to joint economic and infrastructure projects.
After Samarkand, the organization received specific development tools — the Turkic Investment Fund and a roadmap for transport connectivity. Uzbekistan promotes the idea of strengthening the Middle (Trans-Caspian) Corridor, which connects Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe. This will create new opportunities for export, logistics, and sustainable growth.
Uzbekistan is returning the idea of the human dimension of cooperation — education, culture, youth, science — to the agenda of the OTS. The recognition of Bukhara as the first youth capital of the Turkic world became a symbol of this line. Supporting youth forums and academic programs transforms Turkic solidarity from a historical concept into a social reality, — the statement said.
The summit in Gebele is being held under the slogan “Regional Peace and Security”. Uzbekistan advocated for the Turkic world to become a zone of stability, trust, and mutual understanding. The development of transport routes, energy ties, and cultural exchanges is the foundation for a lasting peace based on mutual benefit.
Uzbekistan’s accession to the OTS in 2019 marked a turning point in the organization’s development. Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decision to join the country gave the organization a new political and economic dimension, strengthening its role as a regional platform for cooperation.
Since 2019, Uzbekistan has become one of the main initiators and modernizers of Turkic integration. Each summit with the participation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev brought specific initiatives that became the decisions of the entire organization. Gabala is a continuation of this course. Uzbekistan is a key participant in the modernization of the Organization of Turkic States, — the report says.
A landmark event was the 2022 Samarkand Summit, held under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan. At the initiative of the President, key documents were adopted — the “Samarkand Declaration”, the Strategy of the Organization of Turkic States for 2022-2026, as well as the “Turkic Vision – 2040” Concept.
These decisions determined the long-term agenda for cooperation between the states in the fields of economy, transport, digitalization, education, science, green energy, and culture. During Uzbekistan’s chairmanship, work on the Turkic Investment Fund — the main financial instrument for supporting joint projects — gained momentum.
The participating countries also strengthened the coordination of actions to expand trade and economic cooperation, develop transport connectivity, and simplify customs procedures. Special attention was paid to strengthening the humanitarian and youth dimension of Turkic cooperation.
The Forum of Young Leaders of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Bukhara, and the city itself was declared the first youth capital of the Turkic world. Within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, Uzbekistan is also consistently promoting the ideas of strengthening transport and logistical interconnectedness, in particular, the development of the Central (Trans-Caspian) transport corridor connecting Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe.
Under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Organization of Turkic States has reached a qualitatively new level – from a consultative structure, it has become an effective multilateral mechanism of political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation with a real practical agenda. Uzbekistan consistently proceeds from the fact that Turkic unity should be expressed not in symbols, but in concrete actions — in joint projects, investments, infrastructure, and knowledge exchange that strengthen stability and mutual trust in the region.
Recall that on October 6, Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Azerbaijan on a working visit at the invitation of Ilham Aliyev. The Head of State took part in the main events of the regular summit of the Organization of Turkic States in the city of Gebele.
