Three officials of a public catering establishment were detained in connection with a gas explosion in a cafe in Gulistan, the Supreme Court’s press service reported.
On December 2nd of this year, at approximately 10:50 AM, a gas-air mixture of hydrocarbon gas ignited in the kitchen of the Bek Family Cafe restaurant in the Taraqqiyot neighborhood of Gulistan city. The mixture accumulated due to a leak from a 50-liter cylinder of liquefied propane connected in violation of fire safety regulations, which led to an explosion.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 192-11, Part 1 (Abuse of power by officials of a non-state commercial or other non-state organization), Article 257, Part 2, Clauses “a,b” (Violation of labor protection rules resulting in death and other grave consequences), and Article 259, Part 2, Clauses “a,b” (Violation of fire safety rules resulting in death and other grave consequences) of the Criminal Code.
Three officials of Bek Family Cafe have been detained.
An investigative team led by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ramazon Ashrapov, has launched an investigation. The case has been taken under control, a legal decision will be made upon its completion, and information will be provided to the public, — the statement said.
Recall that in the Syrdarya region, a gas cylinder exploded in a teahouse at one of the markets. At that time, reports of possible deaths were circulating on social media, but the Gulistan Health Department stated that there is currently no such data. Later it became known that three people died as a result of the incident.

The Ministry of Health reported the condition of all those injured as a result of the explosion in a cafe in Gulistan. The department noted that they have taken the situation under control. In addition, families of the deceased will receive 100 million soums.
