Thousands of children have become victims of various crimes in Uzbekistan
Almost half of them were children under 12 years old.

In the first half of 2025, 2,872 minors in Uzbekistan, almost half of whom turned out to be children under 12, became victims of various crimes, “Gazeta.uz” reports, citing the Director of the National Agency for Social Protection, Mansurbek Olloyorov.
A representative of the department said that 42.7% or 1,225 children turned out to be under 12 years old. Also, Mansurbek Olloyorov noted that cases of violence against children are increasing in the country.
Victims are often blamed or silenced. It is precisely against this culture of silence that we must fight as decisively as against violence, – noted the director of the agency.
In particular, according to the analysis, during this period, 1,475 children suffered from crimes that do not pose a great danger to society, and another 956 minors suffered from moderate offenses. 284 children became victims of serious crimes, and 157 — victims of especially serious crimes.
Also, Mansurbek Olloyorov emphasized that the number of appeals to the agency’s hotline has tripled compared to 2024 and continues to grow. In particular, out of 340 appeals received by the hotline, 159 specialists investigated them in accordance with the requirements of the legislation, and the remaining 181 received various psychological and legal services.
Earlier, it was reported that the countries of Central Asia would begin protecting children together. EU and CA Commissioners for Children’s Rights convened a forum in Tashkent.
