The President announced the introduction of the USE in schools

Based on the results of the school exam, graduates will be able to attend either technical colleges or universities of their choice.

On September 15, at a meeting in the Tashkent region, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the introduction of the Unified State Exam in schools, the presidential press service reports.

Currently, 6.5 million students are studying in schools. In 2025, about 400 thousand students graduated, and 720 thousand children were admitted to the first year. Therefore, over the past eight years, by constructing roughly 500 new schools and expanding existing ones, 1 million student places have been added.

The future of the nation begins with schools. Because the longest and, if necessary, the most crucial stage of education and upbringing for our children is school education, — the president said.

Conditions have also been established for private schools, where more than 200 thousand children are already enrolled. Starting from the new academic year, USEs will be introduced for 9th and 11th grade students to provide vocational or higher education guidance based on their abilities. Thus, about 400 thousand 9th-grade graduates will be supported by technical schools.

School education will continue with in-depth study of subjects for those wishing to enter higher education institutions. In short, based on the results of the final exam in the school, graduates will be able to enter either technical colleges or universities of their choice, — the message says.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan would introduce a unified examination system that has passed international accreditation. The implementation of the Unified State Exam is expected to help save students’ time and reduce the financial burden on parents. This will also cut unnecessary procedures and help avoid redundant bureaucracy.

It should be noted that in July 2022, the State Testing Center under the Cabinet of Ministers published a draft presidential decree on the SOVAZ portal, which proposes the introduction of final state attestation for school graduates starting from the 2024/2025 academic year. The Ministry of Education will set the minimum number of points required to obtain a certificate.
