The new ambassador of Russia received in Uzbekistan
Aleksei Erkhov presented the diplomas to Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The new Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan, Aleksei Erkhov, presented copies of his credentials to the head of the country’s Foreign Ministry, Bakhtiyor Saidov.
The parties discussed issues of further strengthening the relations of strategic partnership and alliance between the countries. The head of the country’s ministry also expressed hope for further close cooperation in promoting the bilateral agenda and expanding interaction in all areas.
Bakhtiyor Saidov wished the new ambassador continued success in his important diplomatic mission and fruitful work in Uzbekistan. Aleksei Erkhov took office after Oleg Malginov, who had been working as ambassador to the country since 2021. The decree on his release was signed by Vladimir Putin on September 5.
Prior to this, Aleksei Erkhov had headed the Russian diplomatic mission in Turkey since 2017. In February 2020, the ambassador repeatedly stated that threats were coming to him in this country. On June 11, 2025, he announced the completion of his work in Turkey, which had continued for a total of 14 years.
Earlier, it was reported that the Foreign Minister received the new Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan. Bakhtiyor Saidov noted that Uzbek-French relations have reached a new level.
