The air in Tashkent remains polluted and harmful
Compared to the previous day, the values improved slightly.
On October 19, the content of fine particulate matter PM2.5 amounted to 45 μg/m³, which is 9 times higher than the WHO recommended value, according to IQAir data.
Thus, as of 08:00, the content of ozone pollutants and PM10 in the air of Tashkent did not exceed the maximum permissible values. At the same time, the concentration of hazardous particles PM2.5 exceeded the WHO norm by 9 times. Air quality is assessed as harmful to vulnerable groups. In the ranking of the world’s most dirty cities, the capital took 11th place.
It should be reminded that Uzbekistan was not on the list of countries meeting WHO air quality standards. The Swiss company IQAir showed a report for 2024.
