The air in Tashkent remains harmful to citizens

On November 21, the content of fine particulate matter PM2.5 amounted to 111.7 μg/m³, which is 22.3 times higher than the WHO recommended value, according to IQAir data.

Thus, as of 08:00, the content of ozone pollutants and PM10 in the air of Tashkent did not exceed the maximum permissible values. At the same time, the concentration of hazardous particles PM2.5 exceeded the WHO norm by 22.3 times.

The air quality is assessed as harmful. At the same time, in some districts of Tashkent, air quality dropped to very harmful levels, and the concentration of hazardous particles exceeded the WHO norm by 43 times. In the ranking of the world’s most dirty cities, the capital took fifth place.

It should be reminded that Uzbekistan was not on the list of countries meeting WHO air quality standards. The Swiss company IQAir showed a report for 2024.
