Uzhydromet published data on the accumulation of pollutants in Tashkent.

According to the information, on November 19, meteorological conditions in Tashkent contributed to the weak accumulation of pollutants in the city’s air basin. In particular, specialists recorded a one-time excess of nitrogen dioxide almost 5 times higher than the permissible norm. Excesses in average daily concentrations (MDSc) were not observed for all determined substances.

Maximum single concentrations for nitrogen dioxide were exceeded by 4.8 times, for hydrogen fluoride by 1.3 times. It should be noted that NO₂ irritates mucous membranes and disrupts the function of cilia, which cleanse the lungs, causes rest, cough, decreased oxygen saturation, increases the toxicity of PM 2.5, can lead to asthma development, and increases the load on the cardiovascular system.

Also, specialists warned that the polluted air will persist throughout the country for several more days. Weather forecasters appealed to residents and guests of the country and asked them to observe safety measures, as well as to reduce outdoor activities and to wear masks when going outside.

Earlier, it was reported that the mayor of New York visited Tashkent, which is struggling. Hokim Shavkat Umurzakov, who has not made a single statement about air pollution, told the guest about the “development strategy”.
