Special signs for quarry dump trucks and trucks may be introduced in Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, it was proposed to introduce separate registration numbers for quarry dump trucks, as well as trucks weighing over 44 tons, according to the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the information, it is proposed to introduce I3 “YUK” type numbers for freight vehicles, which will have a red background and white numbering. On the left side, the region will be indicated, and on the right — the country’s flag and the UZ symbol. The authorities want to designate the quarry dump trucks with the symbols I5 “KON”.

It is noted that the letter designations “L”, “M”, “O” and others will vary depending on the number of registered machines. It is planned that such numbers will help highlight heavy vehicles, the number of which has increased significantly in recent years in the flow, as well as reduce road wear.

Also, special signs are planned to be introduced for old vehicles — their registration plates are proposed to be made golden with black letters. In addition, the authorities propose to introduce liability for parking trucks at night on roadsides. It was noted that in 2024 alone, such parking caused 113 accidents, resulting in 47 fatalities.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbeks would be banned from using cars older than 50 years. Cars will be deregistered without any assistance program for buying a new car.
