Some private universities in Uzbekistan have been mistakenly issued licenses
The Ministry of Higher Education attributed the situation to a malfunction in the “License” system, while the Ministry of Justice refuted this version of events.

Information has emerged on social media regarding the issuance of new licences and permits to private universities. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation commented on the situation.
According to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, information appeared in the “License” system regarding the approval of applications for amendments to licences due to a technical malfunction. The reasons for this are currently being thoroughly examined in collaboration with relevant agencies. The ministry stated that further information on the final conclusions will be made available to the public. The department’s press service also clarified the list of areas and specialties for which applications were wrongly approved.
- Profi University — areas of jurisprudence, all master’s specialisations, distance learning;
- Sharq University — areas of banking and accounting, evening and distance learning;
- Asian International University — distance learning forms, opening of a new campus in Urgench;
- University of Business and Science — distance learning;
