Since the start of 2025, Uzbekistan has produced hundreds of tonnes of sugar
Meanwhile, the volume of production is noticeably declining each year.

According to the press service of the State Statistics Committee, between January and June 2025, Uzbekistan produced 165.5 thousand tonnes of sugar.
The indicators for the respective periods in previous years are as follows:
- 2023 — 332.6 thousand tons;
- 2024 — 227,8 thousand tons;
- 2025 — 165,5 thousand tons.
It’s worth noting that Uzbekistan will lift the ban on exporting all goods and abolish the excise tax on sugar. Exceptions to exports will be made for raw materials and socially significant goods, which will be subject to export duties. Thanks to these measures, the annual turnover of 5.5 thousand enterprises producing confectionery products and soft drinks will reach at least 50 trillion soums.
