Shavkat Mirziyoyev pardoned hundreds of citizens on the occasion of Constitution Day
Officials were instructed to assist citizens who returned from places of detention.

In connection with the 33rd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On pardoning a group of persons serving sentences who have sincerely repented of their deeds and firmly embarked on the path of correction”, the presidential press service reports.
According to the information, 615 persons serving sentences for committing crimes, who sincerely repented of their deeds and firmly embarked on the path of correction, were pardoned.
Of those pardoned, 220 individuals were fully released from serving their main sentences, 123 individuals were released from serving their sentences on parole, and sentences were commuted to 97 individuals. In addition, the terms of imprisonment imposed on 175 persons have been reduced.
Among those pardoned are 9 foreign citizens, 29 women, 23 men over 60 years of age, 264 persons under 30 years of age (including 2 minors), as well as 9 persons who participated in the activities of prohibited organizations.
Responsible authorities have been tasked with returning the pardoned individuals to their families and loved ones, assisting them in social adaptation, involving them in useful work, choosing a healthy lifestyle, and finding a worthy place in society.
Earlier, it was reported that in Uzbekistan, work with prisoners on probation will begin to be encouraged. Not only government agencies, but also some citizens will receive rewards.
