Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on Constitution Day, the presidential letter is being published by the press service of the head of state.

The leader of our country noted that the role and significance of the Basic Law — the guarantor of all rights and freedoms, peace and stability in the country, unity and harmony, and the irreversibility of democratic reforms — are especially deeply felt on this holiday.

The norms and principles enshrined in the Constitution, which is the embodiment of the political and legal thinking and free expression of the will of our people, undoubtedly serve as a source of great strength, confidence, and inspiration for all of us in building a New Uzbekistan, — Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Thus, the practical confirmation of the constitutional principle that the people are the sole source of state power is reflected, first of all, in the activities of the national parliament, endowed with even broader powers and responsibilities, regional Kengashes, which were for the first time headed by chairmen elected from among the deputies of local Kengashes, the institution of mahalla, whose role and authority in public administration are increasingly growing.

The President noted that in recent years, the protection of human honor and dignity, ensuring the rights and interests of citizens has been given an unprecedented importance in our country. This year, during the festive events, which embody the noble idea “The Constitution is the guarantor of human honor and dignity, freedom, equality and justice!” the achievements on this path are comprehensively analyzed, and new and urgent tasks are defined.

Today, the reforms we are carrying out are entering a decisive phase, and we must turn every norm of the Constitution into a criterion of practical activity in the life of the state and society. Our extremely important task is to comprehensively explain the essence and content of the Basic Law to young people, to educate them on the basis of constitutional values as true patriots with a high self-awareness, political thinking, and legal culture, — Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Head of State called for respecting the Constitution and laws, possessing solid legal knowledge and practical experience, only then can one actively participate in the management of state and public affairs, and honorably fulfill their filial duty to the Motherland and the people.

Earlier, it was reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev pardoned hundreds of citizens on the occasion of Constitution Day. Officials were instructed to assist citizens who returned from places of detention.
