Residents of Tashkent voiced concerns over inflated prices at affordable food fairs
The city’s administration has started installing cameras to promote transparency.

In Tashkent, transparency has started to improve at affordable food fairs, according to the city administration’s press service.
At the initiative of the city administration and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, special trade fairs have been organized in the capital’s markets to create convenience for the population and ensure access to affordable food products.
Reports have appeared on social media about cases of selling at individual counters at prices different from those indicated. This caused discontent among the citizens. In this regard, additional measures are being taken to ensure transparency at food fairs, control prices, and prevent their artificial inflation.
In particular, surveillance cameras have begun to be installed on such counters. To date, the installation of cameras has been completed at the Mirobod and Eski Juva markets in Chorsu.
Work in this direction continues, and soon video surveillance cameras will be installed in all major markets of the capital, where food fairs operate at affordable prices, the khokimiyat said.
