Rain and thunder: weather forecast for the week

In high mountains, the change from rain to snow is not ruled out.

Throughout the working week, Uzbekistan will be under the influence of a cool and humid air mass linked to a high-altitude cyclone over southern Kazakhstan, the press service of Uzhydromet reports.

On September 15, during the first half of the day in the northern part of Navoi region, and in the evening, night, and morning of September 16 in Tashkent region, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in some areas. In the Fergana Valley, short-term showers with gaps may occur from the evening of September 16 to the morning of September 19. No precipitation is expected elsewhere in the republic.

In foothill and mountainous regions, intermittent rain is forecast throughout the work week. On September 16th, heavy rainfall is expected in some mountainous areas. In high mountains, the rain may change to snow. The air temperature will gradually fall, reaching 20- 25° by the middle of the week.

From 19 September, a cool air mass will begin to retreat from the territory of the republic, and temperatures will rise by 2-3 degrees. Wind gusts of up to 13-18 m/s are expected in some areas, accompanied by dusty, blowing snow.

In Tashkent: mostly no precipitation, except on the evening of September 15 and during the night and morning of September 16, when short-term rain and thunderstorms may occur. The wind will blow from the north-east at 3-8 m/s, with gusts reaching 10-12 m/s. The daytime temperature today will be 27-29°, dropping to 20-25 °c from September 16 to 18, and then rising slightly to 25- 27° from September 19 onwards.
