Proposal to reduce the number of deputy hokims

By the end of the year, a new management procedure will be implemented in 32 districts and cities.

In Uzbekistan, the number of deputy khokims of districts and cities is planned to be reduced from six to four, according to the draft presidential decree on improving the activities of khokimiyats.

It is proposed to set the number of deputy hokims in the country at four people. By the end of 2026, a new management procedure will be introduced in 32 districts and cities. Within its framework, the territorial subdivisions of nine ministries and agencies will be included in the structure of khokimiyats.

Hokims will independently manage these structures: determine staffing levels, appoint and dismiss personnel, apply incentive or disciplinary measures.
