Over 500 prohibited items have been confiscated at Tashkent Airport since the beginning of the year

The controllers identified weapons, ammunition, and pyrotechnics — everything that could jeopardise flight safety.

Between 1 January and 30 August 2025, officers of Tashkent Airport’s Aviation Security Service confiscated 535 prohibited items. This was reported by Uzbekistan Airports’ press service.

Among the seized items were cold weapons (knives, daggers, castets), ammunition and imitations of them, pyrotechnic products, pepper and gas cylinders, batons, electroshock devices, chemicals, and dual-use equipment, including toy pistols, cartridge-brake ammunition, and drones.

Many of these items pose a potential threat to the safety of passengers and crew. Even souvenir cartridges and toy weapons can raise suspicion and cause flight delays or incidents on board the aircraft, — the statement said.

Passengers were advised to review the list of items prohibited for carriage in advance and were reminded that following transportation rules not only facilitates a smooth control process but also is essential for flight safety.
