Order and cleanliness will be maintained in Uzbekistan for a month

The authorities are also organizing round-the-clock teams to clean streets and social facilities.

In Uzbekistan, a cleanliness and order month will be announced in mahallas, during which khokims will have to put their streets, roads, and alleys in order, the presidential press service reports.

Within the framework of the meeting on bringing reforms in the mahalla system to a new level and increasing the effectiveness of work on the ground, the leader of our country noted that in some areas near houses, as well as in streets, alleys, and ditches, cleanliness requirements are not observed.

In this regard, the president proposed to declare a cleanliness and order month throughout Uzbekistan, within which the khokim of each district will be obliged to tidy up their streets, roads, ditches, and alleys, and to maintain constant cleanliness in these areas. Deputy khokims responsible for landscaping were also instructed to organize round-the-clock teams and clean streets, residential buildings, apartment buildings, and social facilities.

The authorities are planning to mobilize special equipment. In addition, it was noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard will be granted authority to fine citizens for dumping garbage in unauthorized places. Also, law enforcement officers will be able to go to the sites and monitor order daily in city and district centers.

Earlier, it was reported that hundreds of Tashkent residents were fined for repeatedly dumping garbage in unauthorized places. In 10 cases, law enforcement officers punished citizens for up to 23 violations.
