Most commonly, people experience anxiety or depression.

More than a billion people worldwide suffer from mental disorders, according to a WHO report, TASS reports.

According to the information, 14% of the world’s population suffers from mental disorders, and most of them live in low- and middle-income countries where the majority of the world’s population resides. The most common disorders are anxiety and depression. Almost half of mental disorders begin to manifest before the age of 18.

The prevalence of mental disorders varies with gender and age. Men are more prone to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder, while women are more affected by anxiety, depression, and eating disorders.

After 40 years, depressive disorders become more prevalent than anxiety disorders and peak between 50 and 69 years of age.

Earlier, it was reported that school inspector-psychologists in Uzbekistan had been transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. Specialists will engage more closely with law enforcement officers.
