Mirziyoyev discusses with Putin in China — the main point

The Presidents also debated issues on the international agenda.

On 2 September, a meeting was held in Beijing between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin, reported the press service of the head of state.

At the beginning of the conversation, the Russian leader warmly congratulated the head of state and the diverse people of Uzbekistan on Independence Day, wishing them well-being, sustainable development, and prosperity.

Issues related to further expansion and strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance were discussed, especially in the context of practical implementation of the agreements reached during previous high-level contacts. The importance of taking coordinated measures to maintain the momentum of trade, economic, and investment cooperation was emphasised.

Special attention was paid to accelerating the preparation and implementation of projects in priority sectors of the economy, as well as stimulating cooperation ties between regions, including within the framework of joint industrial parks.

Fruitful cooperation in humanitarian fields such as culture, art, science, and education was observed with great satisfaction. Leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia also shared their views on the international agenda.

Earlier, Mirziyoyev and Putin discussed talks with Trump in Alaska. The President of Uzbekistan supported the agreements reached.
