Mirabbos Mirzaahmedov, the host of “Otalar so‘zi”, passed away at the age of 84.

On November 19, a prominent representative of culture and art, well-known director and TV host, Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan Mirabbos Mirzaahmedov passed away at the age of 84, the presidential press service reports.

Mirzaahmedov was born on September 30, 1941, in Tashkent. After school, he entered the Tashkent Theater and Art Institute as a film and theater actor. The artist worked for more than 60 years as a director and chief director of the “Yoshlar” editorial office, a high-category director of the “Uzbekistan” TV channel, the author and host of the program “Otalar so‘zi — aqlning ko‘zi”.

Under his leadership, television programs, radio programs, and feature films on relevant topics were created. Especially, his television films “Bahor qaytmaydi”, “Izlayman”, “Qalbingga quloq sol”, “Bahs”, “Uch ildiz”, “Dunyoning ishlari”, which became significant works of their time, left a bright mark in the history of culture.

Thanks to his image as a wise representative of the older generation and many years of professional experience, Mirzaahmedov gave new spirit and content to the program “Otalar so‘zi — aqlning ko‘zi”, which has been broadcast on central TV channels for more than 40 years.

Through the program, he drew society’s attention to important social and spiritual issues, and made significant contributions to fostering love for family and homeland, respect, morality, and mercy, especially among young people. For his great contribution to the development of our country’s culture and art, Mirzaahmedov was recognized with high state awards:

• honorary title “Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan”;
• “Mehnat shuhrati” and “Dustlik” orders.

Earlier, it was reported that Tulagan Isakov, a footballer who avoided the “Pakhtakor” tragedy in 1979, had died. The player did not fly due to an injury sustained during the game, which saved his life.
