Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a meeting on the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions, touched upon the growing public dissatisfaction with the violation of citizens’ rights during raids abroad, the presidential press secretary reports.
The Head of State said that in most such cases, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is limited to sending an official note, noting that ambassadors and consuls are obliged to provide qualified legal assistance and protect the rights and interests of our citizens abroad in each such case.
The President also stated that the involvement of young people or students abroad in various destructive movements should cause serious concern.
From now on, ambassadors should abandon “office diplomacy” and personally visit construction sites, dormitories, and educational institutions where our compatriots work and study abroad, study their problems, and seek solutions, — said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Officials were tasked with launching a free call center for compatriots who found themselves in difficult situations abroad, as well as forming a system for promptly reviewing their appeals in cooperation with relevant ministries.
