In Uzbekistan, the use of wells without meters shall be prohibited
Devices shall only be installed if they are listed in the State Register of Measuring Instruments.

Uzbekistan has approved the Regulation on providing state services for registering and sealing equipment of underground water intake facilities with water metering devices. This is stated in a government decree.
Starting from 30 November, using underground water intake structures without water metering devices will be forbidden. Meters will only be permitted if included in the State Register of Measuring Instruments.
Water metering devices are installed in pump wells before the water flow control device and in fountain wells and springs after the water flow control device. A fee of 50% of the BCV (206 thousand soums) is charged for providing the state service.
Regional hydrogeological stations and district (city) tax inspectorates shall, within 10 days of receiving the request, register and seal the water metering devices installed on underground water intake structures.
Earlier, it was reported that one in four people worldwide lacks access to water. The residents of less developed countries suffer the most.
