In Uzbekistan, the system of prevention and response to emergencies is being modernized

The President instructed to expand the fleet of equipment with modern vehicles.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with measures to improve the system of prevention and elimination of emergencies, the presidential press service reports.

More than 30 legislative acts have been adopted in this area, but there is still no comprehensive program for protection from emergencies. At the same time, the law “On Fire Safety”, adopted sixteen years ago, no longer meets modern requirements.

In this regard, the head of state set the task of creating a proactive system capable of assessing risks in advance and acting as quickly and effectively as possible. During the presentation, responsible managers presented the results of the analysis of the current situation, identified problems, and practical proposals.

Preventive work is mainly concentrated in government structures. Meanwhile, more than 70% of emergencies occur precisely in residential buildings — due to malfunctioning or outdated gas and electrical appliances, as well as non-compliance with basic safety standards.

The President emphasized the need to organize the work of the system at the mahalla level, to cover every street and every house with measures to prevent emergencies and improve safety culture. Special attention was paid to the implementation of digital technologies and modern technical equipment. In this area, the process is proceeding extremely slowly and does not meet the requirements of the time.

In this regard, it was instructed to create a digital infrastructure, fully digitize all processes — from receiving the emergency signal to its elimination, as well as introduce new working mechanisms. To improve operational response, it is necessary to increase the fleet of modern equipment and machinery, and to establish their production within the country.

Taking into account the emergence of new materials and technologies in various spheres in recent years, it was instructed to create a continuous system for training and retraining personnel, which will allow timely detection and prevention of new types of technogenic threats.

The Head of State instructed to organize a dual education and advanced training center, train professional rescuers, and expand educational programs and scientific research at the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistanis would be able to count on compensation in case of nuclear disasters. The draft law adopted by the deputies needs to be approved in the Senate.
