In Uzbekistan, prisoners have been granted the right to make a one-time 15-minute remote video call or have a telephone conversation at their own expense, according to the press service of the Ministry of Justice.
Amendments and additions have been made providing for the consolidation of the right of convicts sentenced to imprisonment to use remote video communication. Now the convicted person has the right to use a one-time remote video communication or a 15-minute telephone conversation, the payment of which is made at their own expense.
Previously, the convict was granted only the right to one telephone conversation lasting 15 minutes. The law came into force from the day of its official publication — January 15.
Earlier, it was reported that it would be more pleasant to sit in a detention center. The deputies decided to allow prisoners to spend more money and receive clothes and shoes from relatives and loved ones.
