In Uzbekistan, 17 drivers were able to accumulate between 5 and 8 points for traffic violations in 2025, according to Zoir Yuldoshev, press secretary for the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.
According to the information, over the course of seven months, specialists recorded between 7% and 8 penalty points for three drivers, between 6.5 and 7 points for another two, and between 5.5 and 6 points for the remaining 12 drivers. Overall, 165,193 drivers received penalty points during this period.
It is noted that the majority of these penalties range from 0.5 to 5. The specialist also noted that in the last two months of 2025 alone, more than 50,000 drivers received penalty points—the penalty point system itself was introduced in June 2025.
It’s worth noting that over 114,000 drivers in the country received penalty points in the first five months of 2025. At the same time, the number of accidents and violations during this period decreased by 6.3%, and the number of accidents caused by driver error decreased by 31.2%. Starting April 1, 2026, penalty points are also planned to be assessed for violations recorded by automated photo and video cameras.
