In Uzbekistan, more money will be allocated for the improvement of successful districts
In 2026, the authorities plan to allocate 20 trillion soums for the development of district infrastructure.

In Uzbekistan, those districts under the administration of hokims that show better results in specific projects will be able to receive more money for development and improvement, the presidential press service reports.
The new measure was announced by the head of state. During the meeting, it was noted that 5 billion soums allocated to the Dustlik district were used by local authorities for their intended purposes, and the infrastructure of a two-kilometer street in the Chinobod district has significantly improved and has become a 24-hour workplace.
Since the results were impressive, the authorities allocated another 10 billion soums to the district, with which the district administration improved the adjacent street embankment and opened additional areas for trade and services. As a result, 130 new entrepreneurs were able to start their activities, providing jobs for 700 people.
At the same time, it was noted that the Uchkuprik, Bektemir, Jomboy, Kitab, and Tashkent districts, which also received funding for the development of such projects, showed no results. In this regard, in 2026, the authorities plan to allocate 20 trillion soums for the development of district infrastructure.
However, the money will not be distributed equally among the districts, but according to the principle: “which district can act promptly and show noticeable results on a specific project, that district will receive the most funds”. Regional governors were instructed to select projects that will significantly stimulate job creation and poverty reduction, and to complete all preparatory work in 2025.
Earlier, it was reported that residents of Tashkent complained about inflated prices at affordable food fairs. The city’s administration has started installing cameras to promote transparency.
