In Uzbekistan, it will be possible to pay for garbage collection services only online
The authorities plan to stop door-to-door visits and thus simplify this process and make it more transparent.
In Uzbekistan, starting from 2026, payment for waste removal services for individuals and legal entities will be fully transferred to online format to simplify this process, the press service of the Agency for Waste Management and Development of the Economy reports.
According to the information, the measure will take effect from January 1, 2026. Apartment payments will cease, and now it will be possible to pay for these services only online through electronic payment systems. The authorities sent relevant instructions to all sanitary cleaning enterprises in Karakalpakstan, regions, and Tashkent.
It is planned that this will help create a convenient payment system for the population, as well as ensure transparency in the maintenance of billing accounts and prevent corruption. In particular, now payment for household waste removal services will be made in the following ways:
- through the “Toza Makon” billing system;
- using electronic payment systems;
- through the cash desks of commercial banks and branches of JSC “Uzbekistan Pochtasi” (for settlements located in remote areas not provided with Internet access).
Earlier, deputies worried about problems with restrictions on electricity payments due to debts for garbage. A parliamentary inquiry was sent to the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Ecology.
