In Uzbekistan, 7 out of 10 teachers in schools are women

As of the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year, the number of teachers working in general education institutions amounted to 564.9 thousand, according to the Statistics Committee.

Compared to the beginning of the 2015/2016 academic year, the indicator increased by 170.9 thousand units or 43.4%. Of these, 71% (401.3 thousand) are women, and 29% (163.6 thousand) are men.

• 2015/2016 academic year – 385 thousand;
• 2016/2017 academic year – 390.6 thousand;
• 2017/2018 academic year – 409.4 thousand;
• 2018/2019 academic year – 444.2 thousand;
• 2019/2020 academic year – 486.6 thousand;
• 2020/2021 academic year – 508 thousand;
• 2021/2022 academic year – 510 thousand;
• 2022/2023 academic year – 521.6 thousand;
• 2023/2024 academic year – 547.8 thousand;
• 2024/2025 academic year – 564.9 thousand.
