In Uzbekistan, traveling 200 km on a toll highway will cost approximately 100,000 tenge, according to Hasan Umarov, Chief Legal Consultant of the Committee for Roads under the Ministry of Transport.

The expert noted that this price is two times lower than the fine for speeding on regular roads. At the same time, Hasan Umarov noted that investors will be able to set the fare themselves within the approved tariffs. The methodology will also include different types of rates: for a full trip along the highway or for each kilometer of the route.

Also, the ministry representative emphasized that toll roads will allow citizens to save time and drive without fear of getting fined, as well as reduce the load on public roads. It should be noted that in Uzbekistan, toll roads can only be built if there is a free alternative. At the same time, the cost of travel on such roads will be assessed taking into account the interests of the population and businesses.

Earlier, the date of construction of toll roads from Tashkent to Samarkand and Andijan was announced. The funds for financing will be allocated by an international institution.
