A driver without a driver's licence twice ignored the demand to stop; a pre-trial investigation is underway.

A video from Urgench appeared on social media showing a traffic police inspector smashing the front window of a Cobalt car. According to the information service of the Khorezm Regional Department of Internal Affairs, the incident took place on 9 September 2025, at the “Cholish” checkpoint.

The inspector signalled to stop, but the driver did not obey and continued driving towards the city. After communication, another inspector in Urgench tried to stop the car at the intersection; however, the driver again refused to comply with the requirements, locked the doors, and started moving despite the inspector being in front of the car.

To stop the vehicle, the inspector shattered the windshield using an official device, as clarified by the Department of Internal Affairs.

The driver tried to escape, but the car was blocked at the next intersection.

The inspection revealed that a 22-year-old resident of Beruniy district of Karakalpakstan, Yu.Sh., was driving without a driver’s license. The car was registered in his father’s name, the driver had no documents with him. In addition, there are three unpaid fines for this car that have been overdue for more than two months.

An administrative report has been drawn up against the driver, the car has been sent to a penalty parking lot, and a pre-trial investigation is underway.
