In the Tashkent metro, a passenger gave birth to a baby at the station

Naima Mahamadjanova, the train reception and dispatch duty officer, helped the baby come into the world.

On October 6, a woman gave birth to a baby at the Gafur Gulyam metro station in Tashkent, the press service of the metro reported.

An internal affairs officer serving at the station reported the situation to Naima Mahamadjanova, the train receiving and dispatching officer.

Using her knowledge and skills, she promptly provided first aid and helped the woman deliver the baby safely. The duty woman provided the necessary postpartum measures — she bandaged the baby’s navel and stimulated the baby’s respiratory reflex.

The metro staff called an ambulance and the mother’s relatives. Before the arrival of medical personnel, the station staff monitored the mother and child’s condition and ensured their safety. The mother and the newborn are healthy — they were taken to the hospital.
