In the settlement colony in Syrdarya, meeting rooms were built after the Ombudsman’s visit
The provided premises have been equipped with all the necessary conditions.

In the Syrdarya region, the Ombudsman, during raids, found that there were no rooms for long visits in the 40-colony-settlement for prisoners and instructed to build them.
As part of the inspection, the specialist determined that the long-term meetings of convicts with their family members were held not on the territory of the institution, but in the residential buildings of citizens of the Chortok mahalla. The Ombudsman studied the unsatisfactory living conditions and non-compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements, in connection with which he instructed to build separate rooms for such meetings.
It is noted that the Gulistan district administration and the Department of Corrections of the Ministry of Internal Affairs allocated the necessary financial resources for the construction of the relevant premises. As a result, specialists built and commissioned 11 modern rooms for long-term visits on the territory of the settlement colony, equipped with all the necessary conditions.
Earlier, it was reported that in Surkhandarya, the Ombudsman’s representative visited closed institutions. The specialist instructed to correct the identified shortcomings.
