In Tashkent, two more streets and the embankment will be converted into round-the-clock tourist zones

The authorities plan to allocate more than 20 billion soums from the republican budget for the implementation of projects.

Another three locations in Tashkent are planned to be transformed into round-the-clock tourist zones with developed infrastructure, according to the First Deputy Hokim of the capital for Finance, Economics and Poverty Reduction, Bakhtiyor Khaydarov.

According to the information, New Sergeli, Qatortol streets, as well as the Bözsu canal embankment, will be upgraded. At a regular meeting of the People’s Deputies Council, a city administration representative explained that a 3.5 km area on Yangi Sergeli Street in Sergeli district is planned to be turned into a 24-hour walking area.

For the implementation of the initiative, the authorities plan to allocate 8.7 billion soums from the republican budget. They also want to rebuild part of Katartal Street in Chilanzar district, for which 10.2 billion soums will be allocated. A promenade zone will also be organized on the banks of the Bözsu Canal, which will pass through the Minor, Matonat, and Kashgar mahallas.

Earlier, it was reported that hundreds of “round-the-clock” streets could appear in Uzbekistan. It was proposed to introduce the position of “night economy managers” in the khokimiyats.
