On November 1st, the overground metro line dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence resumed operations in Tashkent.

Currently, 12 trains operate on this route with a seven-minute interval. The line had been inactive since June 28, two years after its opening, it was closed for minor repairs, which turned into a large-scale reconstruction with the dismantling of railway tracks. Because of this, rumors appeared on social media about the demolition of the overground metro, which was officially denied.

The Transport Prosecutor’s Office stated that the line was built with serious violations, which ones were not specified.

Large-scale inspections were carried out on the overground ring metro line, during which the identified shortcomings were eliminated. In particular, the roads were leveled, worn-out sleepers were replaced, the condition of the drainage system was checked, and the gravel ballast was inspected.

On the newly launched line, they promise to reduce train intervals as much as possible and double their speed.
