In Tashkent, roads are being modernized with the help of a Chinese company

The total volume of work financed by loans from the Bank of China under the state guarantee of Uzbekistan will be 270 million dollars.

In Tashkent, projects are being implemented to modernize transport infrastructure with the participation of China Construction Fifth Engineering Division, according to the Roadmap for the creation of an effective transport management system.

According to the information, the total cost of the work, financed by loans from the Bank of China under the state guarantee of Uzbekistan, exceeds $270 million.

Within the framework of the first stage, the following are envisaged:

  • repair and modernization of a 3-kilometer section of Shahrisabz Street – from the intersection with A. Temur Avenue to the intersection with Mirobod Street, with the organization of a separate lane for bus traffic and the renewal of adjacent road infrastructure. Value — $6 million, deadline — September 2026;
  • modernization and repair of the 11 km section of A. Temur Avenue – from the Tashkent Ring Road (Uchkhraman intersection) to the Small Ring Road (Northern Station), as well as the 5.5 km section of Yangi Sergeli Street — from the intersection with Choshtepa Street to the intersection with Kipchak Street, with the organization of a separate lane for bus traffic and the renewal of road infrastructure. Value — $16.5 million, deadline — November 2026;
  • repair and modernization of 38 km of streets — Mahtumkuli, Mirzo Ulugbek — Feruza — Yuzrabot, Lutfi, Muqimiy, Nurafshon, Karatash — Kukcha Darvoza and Tashkent Ring Road — Parkent with the organization of a separate lane for bus traffic, as well as the renovation of road infrastructure along these streets. Cost — $76 million, implementation – 2026-2029.

Within the framework of the second stage, it is envisaged:

  • repair and modernization of 36 km of road surfaces and adjacent infrastructure on 16 streets. Cost — $36.5 million, implementation — during 2026;
  • construction of an overpass on the section of the Small Ring Road connecting Pahlavon Street with Elbek Street (near ZO‘R TV). Cost — $25.4 million, implementation — December 2026.

Within the framework of the third stage, it is envisaged:

  • repair and modernization of 33 km of roads and road infrastructure on 9 streets, including designated bus lanes, installation of protective barriers and convex artificial irregularities to improve pedestrian safety. Cost — $33.5 million, implementation — during 2027;
  • construction of an underground automobile tunnel at the intersection of Amir Temur Avenue with Rikhsili and Yangishahar streets (Yunusabad Ring Road). The cost is $26.2 million, implementation is planned for 2027.

The fourth stage provides for the repair and modernization of 50 km of roads and road infrastructure on 15 streets, including designated bus lanes, protective barriers, and convex artificial bumps to ensure pedestrian safety. Cost — $51 million, implementation — within 2028 years.
