In Tashkent, 87 billion soums will be spent on salaries and social sphere

The authorities will also compensate for the costs associated with the increase in electricity tariffs.

The Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies approved the allocation of 87 billion soums from additional budget sources.

The funds will be used to increase the salaries of civil servants, repair and equip kindergartens, and support students from socially vulnerable families. Also, 65 billion soums of the total amount will be allocated for the payment of increased salaries and compensation for expenses related to the increase in electricity tariffs.

The remaining 22 billion soums will be distributed among social and urban projects:

  • payment of tuition fees for 150 orphaned students and girls from low-income families;
  • repair and re-equipment of schools and kindergartens;
  • purchase of medical equipment and transport;
  • development of cultural initiatives and creation of children’s content.

10.5 billion soums will be allocated for preschool education. The funds will be used for the repair and equipping of kindergartens, the restoration of inactive groups. Another 4 billion will be allocated for the “Tashkent Experience” project, which provides for the repair of classrooms and additional payments to teachers.

As a reminder, the authorities plan to improve Tashkent for 100 billion soums. The allocated funds will be used to renovate power grids and transformers, equip universities, and organize festive events.
