In the Syrdarya region, a tax inspector who harassed a businesswoman while her husband was working was sentenced. This was reported by human rights activist Abdurahmon Tashanov.

According to the information, the man, who holds the position of head of the Yangiyer city tax inspectorate, for several months wrote obsessive personal messages to the woman, and also sent tax inspectors to her store several times.

Additionally, the man suggested meeting her over a cup of tea in the evening, stating that he “worried about her situation”. All this time, the victim’s husband was on a business trip, so the woman, frightened by the persecution, did not leave her house for several days and did not visit her store.

Human rights activist Abdurahmon Tashanov said that the case was qualified under Article 183 of the Administrative Code (petty hooliganism) and expressed outrage, noting that such crimes are not just “petty hooliganism” and such actions in the context of national mentality can lead to family breakdown and an increase in social tragedies.

Earlier, it was reported that in Navoi, a mahalla chairman harassed a woman and was detained for three days. The civil servant sent inappropriate messages to the victim and drank alcohol at work.
