Uzbekistan plans to implement the “Equal opportunities — inclusive employment” project, within the framework of which authorities want to provide employment for 40 thousand people with disabilities, the presidential press secretary reports.
According to the information, the authorities plan to implement these plans from 2026. For this purpose, persons with disabilities will be provided with interest-free loans of up to 30 million soums from the Employment Fund. This will be the fifth direction of the country’s leader for 2026.
Let everyone hear: from now on, people with limited income and disabilities will not be included in the register of the poor. The state will take responsibility for their support, — the president said.
In addition, it is planned to retain social assistance and benefits for families facing the threat of returning to poverty. In particular, they will be paid material assistance and child benefits for 6 months, and will be provided with additional access to 110 social services and types of assistance, such as compensation for expenses for kindergartens and clubs, as well as treatment referrals, throughout the year.
Such families will be identified in advance and they will receive targeted assistance. The First Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection of the Population, Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva, will oversee the implementation of these tasks and organize their implementation with the regional governors.
Earlier, it was reported that in Uzbekistan, the costs of re-equipping cars for people with disabilities will be compensated. Applications can be submitted within a limited timeframe.
