Funeral records are being digitized in Uzbekistan
Maintaining paper registration will be canceled.

In Uzbekistan, the system of organization and accounting of funeral procedures and the introduction of effective control mechanisms in this area are being improved, according to a government decree.
According to the information, it is expected that the issuance of burial permits and their accounting will be transferred to a digital format. To monitor these processes through the electronic system, new electronic services are being introduced.
By June 1, 2026, a module “Unified Electronic Book of Funeral Records” will be developed within the “Unified Electronic Archive of Civil Registry Offices” information system with a corresponding mobile application.
Starting March 1, 2026, after the death is registered, the deceased’s relatives will receive an electronic death notification with a QR code in their personal account on the my.gov.uz portal, which will be provided free of charge. This notification is equivalent to a stamped certificate. From July 1 to December 31, 2026, a new procedure for conducting funerals will be introduced in Tashkent as an experiment.
The permission for the burial will be issued only by a module or mobile application under the supervision of the cemetery’s responsible person. The paper registration of funerals will be canceled.
