First restaurant of Uzbek cuisine opened in Afghanistan

All necessary materials for the construction and decoration of the restaurant were brought from Uzbekistan.

The first restaurant of Uzbek national cuisine opened in the capital of Afghanistan, Dunyo reports.

The restaurant was opened with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan by an entrepreneur and her husband. More than 2,000 different restaurants, cafes, and fast-food establishments operate in Kabul. However, until now, there were no restaurants with Uzbek national cuisine in the country.

According to the entrepreneur, the idea to open the establishment was inspired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiative to promote national brands, including Uzbek cuisine, abroad. Together with her husband, a citizen of Afghanistan, she decided to implement this project.

It is noteworthy that all the necessary materials for the construction and decoration of the restaurant were brought from Uzbekistan. The inscription “Uzbek National Cuisine” is placed on the facade of the building. The cafe’s interior is decorated with Uzbek national fabric — adras.

Representatives of the Uzbek community living in Kabul participated in the grand opening ceremony of the restaurant. Speaking at the event, the Afghan side highly appreciated the opening of the restaurant and expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan and the country’s President for their efforts to develop political and economic ties between the two states, — the statement said.

As a reminder, women’s books began to be banned in Afghanistan. Books by Iranian authors or those published in Iran were also banned.
