Entry to Samarkand will be restricted
The city will host the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.

Authorities will temporarily restrict entry to Samarkand as part of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reports.
According to the information, the event will be held in the city from October 30 to November 14, 2025, in connection with which authorities plan to introduce temporary restrictions on traffic.
At the same time, the department noted that only certain roads entering the city will be closed, and for ambulances, special equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and operational services, as an exception, entry will be open. Law enforcement officers urged citizens to consider the changes when planning trips and to be understanding of the temporary inconveniences.
Earlier, it was reported that within the framework of the conference, meetings on education, science, communications, and culture will be held in Samarkand. Special attention will be paid to the protection of the world heritage, the development of creative industries, climate resilience, and digital justice.
