Electricity grids in Tashkent region will be transferred to private owners
The authorities are developing the involvement of entrepreneurs in the production and supply of electricity.

The management of electrical networks in four regions of Uzbekistan will be transferred to private companies, the president announced at the launch and commencement of construction of new energy capacities and infrastructure facilities.
According to the information, from 2025, the principles of private partnership will be applied not only in the production of electricity, but also in its supply. In particular, an agreement was reached with the Turkish company Aksa Elektrik to transfer the regional power grids of Samarkand to a private management.
The company will take the network under operational management, invest in modernization, reduce losses by half, which will save an average of $20 million annually. Also, in 2026, investors will be offered to manage the electrical networks of Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions, and in 2027, Namangan and Tashkent.
Earlier, it was reported that trillions of soums would be allocated to improve electricity networks in Uzbekistan. In addition, entrepreneurs who set up external infrastructure at their own expense will have their expenses refunded through profit tax.
