Drug trafficking students convicted in Tashkent

The first-year students took the drugs from the indicated geolocations, packed them into doses in the dormitory, and sent them to the specified addresses.

In Tashkent, as part of the “Safe and Healthy Country” event, 1st-year university students involved in drug trafficking were detained, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

During an operational event conducted in Yashnabad district, two students were checked with the participation of witnesses, and 120 grams of synthetic drug “alpha-pvp” were found and seized.

The operation was continued, and during the inspection of the university dormitory, where the 18-year-old student was temporarily staying, 400 grams of “alpha-pvp” were found. As it turned out, these 2 students took synthetic drugs from the geolocations indicated by their acquaintances, packed them into doses at the university dormitory, and sent them to the specified addresses.

As a result of operational measures, the illegal circulation of a total of 520 grams of synthetic narcotic substances, equivalent to 2,600 single doses, was prevented.

The detainees were found guilty under Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code (Illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, and other actions with narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances for the purpose of sale, as well as their sale) and sentenced to 10 to 20 years imprisonment.

Measures to identify the sources of synthetic drugs and other accomplices are ongoing.

Earlier, it was reported that State Security Service officers had uncovered a large drug trafficking organization in Uzbekistan. Law enforcement officers prevented the spread of 17 kg of synthetic drugs.
