Corruption crimes have increased in Uzbekistan

The damage to the state amounted to trillions of soums.

According to the National Report on Combating Corruption, the number of corruption crimes and the amount of damage to the state increased in Uzbekistan in 2024.

According to the report, in 2024, 7,354 individuals were held accountable for 4,649 corruption crimes. Compared to 2023, the number of convicts increased by 12.5%, the number of crimes — by 12.6%. The largest number of corruption crimes were recorded in Andijan (882), Namangan (877), and Tashkent (697) regions.

The damage to the state amounted to 2.81 trillion soums. The largest corruption losses were recorded in Andijan (680 billion soums), Tashkent (332 billion soums), and Namangan (308 billion soums) regions.

As a reminder, a “Digital Court” system will be introduced in Uzbekistan to prevent corruption. Claims considered indisputable will be transferred for consideration to administrative bodies.
