Clothing for another foreign brand will be produced in Uzbekistan

In the future, the authorities intend to establish training centres and medical stations for employees within the facility.

A factory has been established in the Fergana region that will produce textile and sewing products for the global brand H&M, according to the regional administration’s press service.

According to the information, the Innovative Apparel enterprise was established in the Kushtepa district. The factory was set up in cooperation with Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, the total amount of direct foreign investment in the enterprise reached $15 million. The finished products are intended to be exported to Iran, the UAE, Thailand, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

The factory has also signed contracts with trading companies operating under the global brand H&M, through which it will fulfil orders for them. It is noted that production has already commenced and the first orders have been received by the brands. The administration emphasised that the opening of such factories could fundamentally change the district’s economy and play an important role in its development.

Currently, more than 500 women and girls are working at the factory, and once the project reaches full capacity, the number of workers is expected to rise to 3,500. Specialists from Sri Lanka are also actively involved in the work. In subsequent stages, the authorities plan to establish training centres and medical points for workers on the factory grounds.
