Russian philosopher and political theorist Alexander Dugin stated that the existence of sovereign Uzbekistan and a number of other former USSR republics “can not be acknowledged”.
According to him, territories that will not be under Russian control will become “forposts” for the US and EU, as well as potentially for China.
Either they will become part of our Unified Union, or they will become a bridgehead for the West, — Dugin said.
Among the countries whose sovereignty he questioned were Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. He noted that Russia’s goal in the modern “tripolar world” is to become a “most important center of power”, and he considers the independent states on the periphery as a strategic threat.
Alexander Dugin heads the Ilyin Higher School of Politics and the International Eurasian Movement. In 2014, Foreign Policy magazine included him in the list of the world’s 100 most influential thinkers.
