Air quality in Tashkent has worsened

The capital is once again among the leaders of the IQAir anti-rating.

On 3 September, the concentration of fine-disperse particulate matter PM2.5 reached 27.5 μg/m³, which is 5.5 times higher than the WHO recommended value, according to IQAir data.

Therefore, as of 08:00, the levels of ozone pollutants and PM10 in Tashkent’s air did not surpass the maximum permissible limits. However, the concentration of hazardous particles PM2.5 exceeded the WHO standard by 5.5 times. Air quality is rated as average.

In the worldwide air pollution ranking, the capital is placed 8th.

It should be reminded that Uzbekistan was not on the list of countries meeting WHO air quality standards. The Swiss company IQAir showed a report for 2024.
