A “zero” point of the national coordinate system has been established in Uzbekistan
In the future, experts plan to register it in the international system.

Specialists of the Republican Aerogeodetic Center under the Cadastre Agency established the initial “zero” point of the national coordinate system in the territory of Samarkand.
For this purpose, experts chose the Cho’pon-ota hill located in the Rasadxona neighborhood. It is noted that the “zero” point includes the main point of type 187A and two fundamental benchmarks of type 161-op and is the main support of the database of all maps, geodetic and cadastral works on the territory of the country.
It is planned that this point will perform the functions of the main point for coordinate systems on the territory of the country, after which the experts also want to coordinate it with the international coordinate system.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan and Jordan discussed cooperation in the field of geology. The parties approved a roadmap and signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of copper, rare metals, and other minerals.
