A register of mahallas will appear in Uzbekistan
The mahalla association is appointed as the responsible body.

A regulation on the procedure for forming and maintaining a unified register of mahallas has been approved in Uzbekistan, Norma reports.
According to the information, the relevant document defines the procedure for:
- formation and maintenance of information about the mahalla in electronic form through the register;
- use of register data when creating, reorganizing, and (or) liquidating a mahalla citizens’ assembly.
The Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan is the body responsible for maintaining the register. It is formed and maintained in the “Digital Mahalla” information system. The Register is a unified source of information about the mahalla, necessary for interagency electronic interaction with state bodies and other organizations.
Mahallas are planned to be audited by November 1, 2025, and the registry will be fully implemented by December 1, 2025.
Earlier, it was reported that offices for police chiefs and prosecutors would appear in some mahallas of Uzbekistan.
